Manchester United will face Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday - with the hope of ending a three-game winless run.

Ruben Amorim's side are without a win since the Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat to Tottenham last month. Defeats to Bournemouth, Wolves and Newcastle United then followed.

A trip to Anfield will certainly be another tough task but some points must be added to the board. Only seven points separates the Reds from relegation battlers Ipswich Town who sealed a remarkable 2-0 win over Chelsea on Monday.

Liverpool on the other hand, have picked up three consecutive league wins and are unbeaten in their last 23 games in all competitions. Their only league defeat came against Nottingham Forest in September.

However, heading into the fixture, Liverpool are dealing with some injuries and are still waiting to discover whether they can welcome back several of their players. Ibrahima Konate has been absent since sustaining an injury during the Champions League win over Real Madrid in November.

He has so far missed eight games for Arne Slot though the Dutch boss hinted last week the France international could return to team training ahead of the United game. Conor Bradley has also been absent since the win over Real Madrid having suffered a hamstring injury.

Similarly to Konate, there is a chance he could return to training ahead of the weekend. In addition, Federico Chiesa was absent from the squad at West Ham and has struggled for regular game time this season.

Joe Gomez also faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring problem suffered during the first half of the 5-0 win at West Ham United on Sunday. Elsewhere, four Liverpool players - Konate, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez are all one booking away from a one-match suspension. Sunday's encounter is the final game for both teams before the 19-game amnesty for yellow cards is reached.
