Liverpool defender agrees deal extension as transfer decision made
Liverpool defender Rhys Williams has extended his loan move at Morecambe until the end of the season. Williams will spend the remainder of the campaign at the League Two side having initially joined until the start of this month.
The 23-year-old has been a virtual ever-present for the Shrimps, with his appearance in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Tranmere Rovers his 25th of the season.
That victory moved Morecambe off the foot of the Football League, while the Lancashire side have won through to the third round of the FA Cup and a trip to Premier League title contenders Chelsea on Saturday week.

Williams joined the Reds' Academy at the age of 10 and made his senior breakthrough during the 2020/21 campaign, making his debut in the League Cup win at Lincoln City and ending the season as centre-back partner to Nat Phillips to help injury-hit Liverpool earn unexpected Champions League qualification.
The defender, though, hasn't featured for the first team since May 2021 and has subsequently had mixed loan spells at Swansea City, Blackpool, Aberdeen and Port Vale, from whom he returned within days at the start of last year due to injury.
