Arne Slot says Dominik Szoboszlai has been cleared for a Liverpool return after training with the club's Under-21s on Thursday. And the Reds boss also revealed Jarell Quansah will be able to feature against Accrington Stanley after recovering from an illness that saw him withdrawn in the first half of Wednesday night's defeat at Tottenham.

Szoboszlai has missed the last three games for Slot's team through illness and was primed to make his comeback in Thursday's training session at the AXA Centre in Kirkby, only for the workout to be cancelled after the travelling contingent experienced difficulties getting back from London on Wednesday night.

The club's flight back to Liverpool's John Lennon Airport was forced to land in Birmingham instead, meaning alternative transport back to Merseyside had to be arranged by staff. It meant many of the players didn't return to their homes until the early hours of Thursday and training was called off as a result.

With no team-mates to train with, Szoboszlai was sent out with Barry Lewtas' U21s and he is now ready to return when the Reds entertain League Two side Accrington on Saturday lunchtime in the third round of the FA Cup. Quansah should also be ready, Slot confirmed.

"Every game is an opportunity for the players to play and this one as well," Slot said. "Dom trained with U21s yesterday.

"Jarell, like I said, he was a bit ill last week, as a result of that, I had to take him off but expecting him to be available. So yes, we know we can use players in every single game and this one Saturday.

"What do I know about the relationship with Accrington? Not that much, because I've only been here half a year but I do know about the milk advert!

"Probably everyone knows this. Immediately after the draw, there was a clip that showed a player for them was so happy to be at Anfield.

"I know there are people from this area who play for that club and there's quite a lot. And of course I know a lot about the team and I will know more about them because we are going to dive into it today. That is all I can say."
