Liverpool travel to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night (kick-off 8pm) in a match that could be significant in the Premier League title race. Forest are the only team to beat Arne Slot's side in the league this season after securing a shock 1-0 win at Anfield back in September.

The East Midlands club currently sit third in the top-flight table and are enjoying a stellar campaign, with Liverpool looking to burst their bubble and go nine points clear at the top of the league.

And several Reds players have hinted they will feature in Tuesday's game. Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Mohamed Salah, and Alexis Mac Allister are among the Liverpool players who have posted pre-match graphics on their Instagram stories, hinting that they may start against Nuno Espirito Santo's team.

Historically, players who share the graphics have tended to be in the team come kick-off. The Reds will welcome back several of their star players who were rested in Saturday's FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley.

Slot acknowledged ahead of Tuesday's game that the chasing pack - both Arsenal and Forest are six points behind with Chelsea a further four points adrift - will be hoping for the Reds to now hit a sticky patch. Liverpool lost the League Cup semi-final first leg at Tottenham Hotspur last week after dropping points at home to Manchester United.

"It would be a bit weird if the number two team hopes the number one wins every game!" laughed the Liverpool head coach. "It's about (us) trying as hard as we can to get the maximum result. I cannot ask the players to win on Tuesday and all the other games. But what I can ask from them and what they can ask of each other is giving the maximum effort they can give.

"Not only in work-rate, but also quality with the ball. That is what we are working for every single day, to make that happen in the best possible way. Then there's also the team you face, you can have a bit of luck or bad luck and we saw recently at Tottenham what can happen if a decision goes against you.

"But that's all part of a season and every team until now has had a period of time where they have dropped points a few times in a row. We have been the only one that hasn't had that yet and that's why we are top of the league.

"But there's no guarantee that that will keep on going for 18 or 19 games. What I want players to guarantee and us to guarantee is that we give the maximum effort to not let that happen. But we play in a league where everyone can beat everyone, so we know how tough it is to win every single game."
