Liverpool came from behind to take what could prove to be a vital point against Nottingham Forest in Tuesday night's Premier League clash. The 1-1 draw saw Arne Slot's side extend their lead at the top of the table ahead of Wednesday night's fixtures.

The Reds found themselves behind against Nuno Espirito Santo's high-flying team after just eight minutes when Chris Wood finished off a counter-attack. Liverpool were left frustrated in the first half, as they failed to overturn the deficit at that stage.

Slot's side did, however, draw level in the second half. It came thanks to an instant impact from two second-half substitutes - just moments after they entered the pitch.

Konstas Tsimikas provided the assist for Diogo Jota, who headed in from a corner just a matter of seconds after replacing Ibrahima Konate. It was the striker's fifth Premier League goal of the season in 13 appearances - despite missing a portion of the campaign through injury.

Following the game, both players took to social media where they have appeared to send a message to Slot - at least indirectly. Tsimikas first shared a video of the goal on his Instagram story before also posting a picture of him celebrating the leveller with Jota.

Jota has shared the same picture on his own Instagram story, along with a brain graphic. Both will hope that their impact will send a message to Slot ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Southampton.

Speaking about Jota after the match, Slot spoke about the impact that the forward had on the game. "He made a big impact already before, when he came in against Fulham," he said.

Slot added: "But after that game he had a bit of a set-back, so the games he came in afterwards, I felt he needed a bit more time to get in his rhythm. You see that with other players when they are out for a few weeks or months, it is difficult when you're out to get this intensity going in these Premier League games immediately.

"It was pleasing to see him today and today maybe better than Fulham. He was the one apart from Mo Salah, who had the most chances to score our second goal."
