Liverpool fans could give Jürgen Klopp perfect send off with Premier League award
Liverpool could give Jürgen Klopp the perfect send-off to end the 2023/24 season and his nine-year reign at the club. The German coach has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Season award.
Klopp, 56, is now preparing for his final two games in charge at the Reds, with a tough clash against Aston Villa penciled in for Monday night at Villa Park - before he ends his reigns at the club by hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield. Liverpool will likely end the season in third place regardless of the results, due to the 11-point gap they hold on Unai Emery's men in fourth.
Liverpool previously had dreams of securing a historic quadruple to mark Klopp's exit in style but have now been forced to settle for just the Carabao Cup for the 2023/24 season. However, Klopp himself could secure himself a personal award to commemorate his exit, after being named on the shortlist for the Premier League Manager of the Season accolade.

The legendary Liverpool boss joins Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Unai Emery (Villa), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) and Andoni Iraola (AFC Bournemouth) on the shortlist of nominees for the award. Klopp has previously won the award in both 2020 and 2022.
Fans have now been given the perfect opportunity to honor Klopp before the end of the season by voting for him for the award. Supporters can vote for Klopp here on the Premier League website before the 12pm (BST) deadline on May 13.
While Klopp is unlikely to be favorite for the award given the way Liverpool's title challenge has fallen apart, the power of the Reds fans could give them a chance to offer him a parting gift as he exits English football.
Elsewhere, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has also been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season award. The Netherlands international joins Phil Foden (Man City), Erling Haaland (Man City), Ollie Watkins (Villa), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Martin Ødegaard (Arsenal), Alexander Isak (Newcastle United) and Cole Palmer (Chelsea) in the race for the award.
Liverpool.com says: While Van Dijk will likely stand little chance of winning the POTS, Klopp has a genuine opportunity to secure the managerial award. He has dealt with severe injury problems throughout the current season and has still managed to lead his side to competing for several titles.
