Fantasy Premier League managers have been treated to a surprise double gameweek thanks to Liverpool's 4-0 victory over Tottenham in the Carabao Cup.

Arne Slot's progression to the Carabao Cup final has caused a key fixture change. With the final pencilled in for March 16th at Wembley, Liverpool's match against Aston Villa has had to be brought forward.

The game, originally set to be held on March 15th, has been brought almost a month forward to February 19th. This means that, to the delight of FPL managers, both Villa and Liverpool will have two games that week.

The Reds will play Wolverhampton at Anfield on the Sunday, and then head to Villa Park on the Wednesday. Unai Emery's side will have an extra day's break in-between as they face Ipswich at home on the Saturday.

Mohamed Salah currently tops the FPL score chart by a healthy margin. The Egyptian King is also the most picked player and seemingly the most trusted with 98.1% of managers who own Salah making him captain last week.

What the FPL player base will be looking out for is players who could potentially be rested by Slot. With a heavy workload in that week, and Manchester City awaiting on the other end, some key players like Cody Gakpo or Trent Alexander-Arnold could find themselves on the bench.

The fixture change hasn't gone down well with the Anfield faithful as it means, in the shorter month of February, Liverpool will play a staggering seven games in 21 days.

Aston Villa could be the ones to take advantage of a tired Liverpool team. With new signings like Marcus Rashford, Marco Asensio and Donyell Malen in the mix, they could prove a threat.

Although Ipswich are not to be underestimated, Emery could rotate his team around to give players a break ahead of the Liverpool clash.
