It looks set to be a big summer transfer window for Liverpool, with work already going on behind the scenes to prepare for when the window opens at the end of the season.

It comes amid uncertainty around the future of three big players who are out of contract at the club. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a summer move to Real Madrid, with the Reds resisting offers from the Spanish side in January.

There has been constant talk over the future of Mohamed Salah, who is gaining interest from sides in Saudi Arabia. Virgil van Dijk has also recently spoken about his contract situation at Anfield.

He told Sky Sports after the Carabao Cup semi-final win over Tottenham: “I am feeling good, what the future brings I have no idea. Anyone who says they know, they are absolutely wrong.”

Should Van Dijk leave at the end of his contract in the summer, it will leave Liverpool looking for a suitable replacement. Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is a player that they could turn their attention to.

According to TBR Football, the Reds are one of the sides monitoring the 19-year-old who has impressed for the Cherries since joining from Juventus in the summer. The teenager has quickly established himself in the Premier League and has caught the eye with his performances.

In even better news for Liverpool, and the other teams interested, the report also claims that Huijsen has a release clause of around £55 million in his contract that will become active at the end of the season. The defender has a deal with the Cherries that runs until 2030.

Liverpool were linked with an interest in Huijsen before he moved to Bournemouth last summer. They could however now face more competition for the centre-back with Arsenal and Chelsea among those to also be watching the player’s situation.
