Liverpool injury update ahead of Wolves as Jürgen Klopp could welcome back three players

Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota came through training on Thursday

Liverpool is preparing to say goodbye to Jürgen Klopp this weekend. The German will bow out after the clash with Wolves at Anfield but could get a final surprising selection boost.

Klopp saw his side draw with Aston Villa on Monday night and with third spot secured, his players will be able to go out and put on a show for their departing boss. Liverpool's supporters will also be planning a special farewell to their iconic manager.

He has conceded he may not be able to hold back the tears when he walks down the tunnel for a final time, and there is unlikely to be a dry eye in the house after nine remarkable years.

Klopp will face the media for a final pre-match press conference on Friday, where he will issue an update on the fitness of a number of players. He saw three return to training on Thursday, with one familiar face surprisingly involved. Here is the latest injury news ahead of Sunday's farewell.

Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota

Liverpool pair Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota both trained on Thursday and should be part of Klopp's squad against Wolves. Jota has not played since he suffered a muscle injury in the win over Fulham last month.

Robertson meanwhile missed the draw with Aston Villa with a slight niggle but Klopp revealed afterwards that he was not far away. Joe Gomez deputized at Villa Park at left-back but Robertson will expect to return to the starting line-up.

Thiago Alcântara and Joël Matip

The Spanish midfielder looked to have played his last game for Liverpool but was also surprisingly pictured in training on Thursday. Thiago's season has been restricted to just one cameo appearance in the defeat to Arsenal but he picked up a muscle problem and hasn't played since.

His Anfield career has been hampered by injuries and he is expected to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires. Thiago could get one chance to bid farewell to Liverpool supporters though, if he is included on the bench against Wolves.

Matip meanwhile is still out as he continues his recovery from a lengthy knee injury lay-off. He is also expected to depart at the end of the season.

Bobby Clark and Ben Doak

It has been a breakthrough season for young midfielder Bobby Clark but he is out with a back injury. Clark sustained the problem in an Under-21s match but will be keen to be fit in time for pre-season.

Doak meanwhile is yet to return to action after undergoing surgery on a knee problem back in December. That issue has ended his hopes of playing at the European Championships with Scotland.
