Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher delivers brutal Man Utd verdict as one man labeled embarrassing
Jamie Carragher has launched a scathing attack on Manchester United's Antony, branding his behavior "embarrassing" and telling him to "shut up" following the Red Devils' crushing defeat to Crystal Palace. The Liverpool legend was left unimpressed by Antony's post-match antics, which saw him whispering to teammates Mason Mount and André Onana after being substituted in the second half.
The Brazilian forward, who cost United a hefty $108m (£85m/€100m), has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League, with his lackluster performances drawing criticism from fans and pundits alike. His latest display in Manchester United's 4-0 loss to Palace did little to silence his critics, with Carragher particularly vocal in his condemnation.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said: "Just get off the pitch. Talking and whispering behind your hand, you have been absolutely awful. They are probably talking about one of the players, or somebody else or the set-up or the manager. Just get off the pitch. Shut up and get in, you've been beaten 4-0. Whispering and talking about other players. Honestly, embarrassing."

Antony's hefty price tag has often been used as a stick to beat him with, and fellow pundit Gary Neville suggested earlier this season, via the Daily Mirror, that his signing will go down as a significant mistake for the club. He stated: "That's the one that is going to stand out — that £85m.
"He's obviously nowhere near that level. But there are a lot of deals you can start to look at with a glass half empty looking at the recruitment. What looks to have happened is Manchester United's recruitment department can't have gone and watched Antony and signed him off at £85m."
Erik ten Hag's team has been struggling to end the season on a high note, with the possibility of missing out on European football altogether. They're dealing with a slew of injuries and have Arsenal next up at Old Trafford as they aim to regain some dignity.
Former captain Ashley Young insists that if they continue to perform as they did at Selhurst Park, they'll be without Europe next term. "If they put on displays like they showed tonight, they will miss out," he said.
"When you look at the games they have got coming up, they are not easy games. If they are not willing to at least run about, then they are going to be in trouble and they will miss out on a European place."
Their defeat at Palace means they have let in 81 goals in all competitions this season, their highest in a single campaign since 1976-77. As it stands, with three games left, the club could end the season with a negative goal difference. The Red Devils haven't finished a season with a negative goal difference since the 1989-90 Division One season — currently, they are on minus three.
Liverpool.com says: Manchester United is simply in a mess at the moment. Jim Ratcliffe might have been sending out emails telling staff to be tidier and encouraging people not to work from home anymore, but it is going to take a bit more than that to turn the ship around. Players like Antony and Casemiro were hugely expensive, but have offered next to nothing. Somehow, Liverpool has played Manchester United three times this season and never managed to win once.
