Liverpool line-ups as Darwin Nunez decision made after new injury blow for Brentford
Liverpool are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they face Brentford at the G-Tech Community Stadium. The match is a crucial game in the title race with the Reds seeing their lead at the top cut to four points this week.
Arne Slot's side dropped two points at Nottingham Forest after a 1-1 draw before Arsenal beat Tottenham 2-1 on Wednesday evening. Liverpool do still have a game in hand but they will be hoping to get back to winning ways against the Bees to give themselves some breathing room at the top.
That way be easy against an impressive Brentford team, who excel at home, and with Liverpool likely without Diogo Jota after the Portuguese picked up a knock against Forest after coming on to score the equaliser. And here's how our writers would line-up if they were picking the team tomorrow.

Tuesday night was another difficult outing for Andy Robertson and with that in mind, I am recalling Kostas Tsimikas at left as one of two changes in total.
The other centres around Darwin Nunez, who comes back in to the side on the basis that Diogo Jota is not fit enough. Arne Slot said he is going to give the Portugal international a late fitness test of sorts but Nunez gets the nod for me. Luis Diaz drops out of the side and can wait in resereve at the G-Tech Community Stadium.
In midfield, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch can patrol and I'm keeping faith with Dominik Szoboszlai, whose physicality might be needed against the Bees. The Hungary captain has become an important component of Slot's tactical framework.
At the back, Tsimikas starts as mentioned but the back five remains the side otherwise as Ibrahima Konate partners Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold gets the nod over Conor Bradley at on the right.
My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Nunez.

Another weekend, another chance for Liverpool to underline their Premier League title credentials. Not, though, that it will be easy at Brentford on Saturday.
What, then, is Arne Slot to do? There are likely to be changes, but there probably won't be many. Certainly not in goal, which remains Alisson Becker. And both Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk can continue at centre-back. But at left-back, Kostas Tsimikas had done enough to merit a start with Trent Alexander-Arnold on the other flank.
In midfield, that remains Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister in the defensive midfield roles with Dominik Szoboszlai the number 10.
And up top, Luis Diaz can drop to the bench with Darwin Nunez coming in down the middle. Mohamed Salah is on the right and Cody Gakpo on the left.
My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Nunez.

If not for a niggle, Diogo Jota would surely be starting upfront for Liverpool this weekend after his impressive cameo against Nottingham Forest. Alas, Arne Slot will have to look elsewhere, with it unwise to take any risks with the Portuguese, given his injury past.
Consequently, Darwin Nunez can get another chance to lead the line on his return from suspension. He scored away at Brentford last season so fingers crossed for a repeat to help ignite his season.
With Luis Diaz suffering with illness in the week and missing training, I wouldn't be taking any risks on him either. He can be on the bench, with Cody Gakpo again starting on the left.
The Reds midfield can remain unchanged from the draw at Forest, but Kostas Tsimikas can come in at left-back in place of Andy Robertson after catching the eye of the bench at the City Ground.
My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Nunez.
