Liverpool names 19-man roster for Girona game as Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota decisions made
Alisson Becker could be in line to make his Liverpool return on Tuesday after being named in the traveling squad for the Champions League clash against Girona.
The Reds have jetted off to Spain ahead of tomorrow’s league phase encounter, with Arne Slot’s side looking to maintain their 100 per cent winning record in the competition so far. Having already guaranteed a spot in the extra play-off round, another victory would likely be enough to see Liverpool secure a top-eight finish and go straight through to the last-16.
And they’ve been handed a major boost ahead of tomorrow’s game, with Alisson among those confirmed in the squad traveling to Spain. The goalkeeper has not played since being forced off against Crystal Palace with a hamstring injury back in October.

The Brazilian could be in line to reclaim his No.1 spot in the side, with Caoimhin Kelleher and Vitezslav Jaros also making the trip.
Just 19 players are named in the squad, with injuries still proving to be a problem for the Reds at the moment. Despite being spotted in training on Monday, Diogo Jota is not included, while Federico Chiesa is also left out after missing the session through illness.
As expected, Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas remain out through injury, while Alexis Mac Allister misses out through suspension.
Young left-back James Norris and midfielder James McConnell make the trip after joining in first-team training earlier, with the rest of the squad taking on a much more familiar look.
Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah are all included after being offered new contracts by the club, with speculation over the weekend suggesting the latter of the trio could be close to penning new terms.
Confirmed Liverpool squad vs Girona: Alisson, Gomez, Endo, Van Dijk, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Salah, Jones, Gakpo, Elliott, Robertson, Gravenberch, McConnell, Jaros, Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Norris, Quansah.
Liverpool.com says: It’s good to see Alisson back involved, and his presence in the squad suggests that he will return to the side against Girona tomorrow. As good as Kelleher has been in his absence, having the world’s best goalkeeper back fit can only be seen as a major boost for Liverpool.
Given the busy fixture schedule, winning in Spain tomorrow could be crucial for Slot and his side. It should be enough to see the Reds through to the last-16, which would give them the freedom to rest some big names in their two remaining league phase games.
