Liverpool next five fixtures compared to Arsenal as major Arne Slot opportunity becomes clear
Liverpool couldn't beat Manchester United over the weekend but with Arsenal only drawing at Brighton, the gap between the Reds and the Gunners — their most likely Premier League title rival — was not eaten into.
Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool but Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo ensured things ended all square. And now there is a short break before the Premier League returns.
Up next for Liverpool is another trip to Spurs where it won 6-3 only a couple of weeks ago. This time, it is for the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final with the return at Anfield not until next month. Then at the weekend, it is Accrington in the FA Cup.

Liverpool next plays in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest a week tomorrow in a tricky-looking game at the City Ground. After that, it has Brentford (A), Ipswich Town (H), Bournemouth (A) and Wolves (H).
Arsenal has Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup semi-finals before hosting Manchester United in the FA Cup. In the Premier League, it has Spurs (H), Aston Villa (H), Wolves (A) and Manchester City (H).
Liverpool.com says: Within those runs of league games, there are also a couple of Champions League fixtures, with Liverpool having Lille and PSV and Arsenal playing Dinamo Zagreb and Girona. In terms of difficulty, Arsenal has the harder run with Spurs, Aston Villa and Manchester City all likely to prove tough.
There's only one away game but Liverpool should be able to at least match the results that Arsenal gets in the next period. Do that, and the Premier League title will feel even more of a strong possibility at the start of February.
