Liverpool now knows date when Plymouth game will be played after Everton decision
There is no rest for Liverpool at the moment, with the Reds still in the hunt for four trophies this season.
Arne Slot’s side is of course fighting it for the Premier League title, and sits top of the pile with a six-point advantage as they prepare to turn their attentions to Nottingham Forest tomorrow. The pressure will be on as Arsenal looks to close the gap, with the next few weeks crucial to the race to be crowned champions.
But Liverpool will also have its eyes on European glory, given they are sitting top of the league phase in the Champions League after winning all six of their games so far. Not only that, but they could potentially be 90 minutes away from Wembley despite defeat to Tottenham in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals, while a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup has been booked after Saturday’s win over Accrington Stanley.

That 4-0 victory has earned them a long trip to Championship side Plymouth Argyle next month, with the Devon club having knocked out Brentford at the weekend. That tie will be played the weekend of February 8, although no specific date has yet been set.
Liverpool fans can almost certainly mark it on the calendar for February 9 though, with the latest announcement about the rescheduled Merseyside derby all but confirming that.
The Reds will now make their final trip to Goodison Park on Wednesday, February 12 after the original fixture was postponed at the start of December. That does come as something of a blow to Liverpool and Slot, considering they would have hoped to have that week free by avoiding the Champions League’s extra play-off round.
Nevertheless, Liverpool’s packed schedule will continue, with the long trip to Plymouth set to be sandwiched in between hosting Tottenham in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final and the derby. Given that clash with Spurs is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, that means the FA Cup tie will almost certainly have to be on Sunday, February 9 in order to give the Reds enough time to recover.
That hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, with the TV picks for the fourth round still to be announced, but Slot and his players will no doubt know now that will be the case as they face another grueling set of three games in just six days.
