Liverpool have offered the strongest hint that Ben Doak will remain at Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season, as originally agreed in the summer.

The winger has excelled at Boro so far this season and is one of the standout young stars in this season's Championship. His form in November, in which he helped Michael Carrick's side with five assists in five games, bagged him the Championship's Young Player of the Month award.

And in a news release to commemorate the award for the Liverpool prospect, the Reds' club website offered a strong hint that he will remain at Boro until the end of the season. It comes as Liverpool have a clause in the loan deal which would allow them to recall him at any point this month, with Premier League clubs said to be interested.

Announcing his award win, the Liverpoolfc.com statement read: "The Scotland international claimed the prize following his excellent form for loan club Middlesbrough in the Championship. Doak, who is spending the 2024-25 campaign with Boro, registered five assists from his five league outings during November."

Boro will hope that the wording which states Doak will be spending the whole campaign with Boro proves to be the case, with the pacy Scotland international proving so important to Carrick's this season. Asked about the recall clause when it first emerged, Carrick said he was relaxed about the situation and said all parties were happy with the loan currently, with Doak publicly stating numerous times how much he is enjoying life at the Riverside so far.

On his award win, the 19-year-old said: "It's good to be recognised for my performances, but I couldn't have performed the way I did in November if it wasn't for the rest of the lads. I enjoyed the month and I'm sure a lot of the lads did as well, because it was a positive month for us. I got more assists than goals but I'm just happy to be helping the team out any way I can."
