Liverpool's maintained their Premier League title hopes when they came from behind to earn a well-deserved point at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening. Substitute Diogo Jota scored with his first touch to equalise Chris Wood's early opener as the Reds fought out a 1-1 draw at the City Ground.

The result means the Liverpool remain six points clear of new second-placed team Forest - although Arne Slot's side still have a game in hand - on a night when both Chelsea and Manchester City dropped points

And here the ECHO rates the Reds players after an entertaining occasion...

Alisson Becker 6

Beaten by Wood’s angled shot for opener and some simple claims before interval. Not fooled by Anthony Elanga free-kick second half.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 6

Too many aimless balls into the box first half although defensively not much to do. More decisive going forward after break but Elanga didn’t make it easy.

Ibrahima Konate 5

Looked uncomfortable at times both in possession and when dealing with bouncing ball. Subbed.

Virgil van Dijk 7

Played Wood onside for opener and became too easily frustrated at lack of movement in front of him. Some decent covering second half as Liverpool ramped up the pressure..

Andy Robertson 6

Offered himself regularly during opening exchanges going forward and recovered from one defensive slip before half-time. Subbed.

Ryan Gravenberch 7

Unable to track Elanga in build-up to opener and shooting radar way off beam before break. However, moved to centre-back after Konate was sacrificed and did very well.

Alexis Mac Allister 6

Started with intent in possession but drifted out of the game for long periods. Became angry at officiating but started to become more effective second half.

Mohamed Salah 7

Tested former Liverpool full-back Nico Williams throughout and endeavour started to pay off second half with an increasing series of efforts, creating chance for Jota and possible penalty. Will be disappointed not to have scored, though.

Dominik Szoboszlai 8

Barely involved in opening quarter but began to put himself about and header blocked by Williams. Took fight to Forest second half as momentum swung towards visitors. Denied by Matz Sels with low drive.

Cody Gakpo 6

Over with some efforts first half and good work-rate, although crosses into area a bit lazy at times. Tougher going after break but another to draw fine save from Sels.

Luis Diaz 5

Playing as the number nine, dropped into some good positions but failed to find final pass, not least when not putting Gakpo clear. Not his night. Subbed.

Diogo Jota (for Konate 66) 8

Superb header to score with his first touch and denied another by excellent Sels save. Made a huge difference as striker.

Kostas Tsimikas (for Robertson 66) 7

Excellent delivery for equaliser and strong in the tackle.

Curtis Jones (for Diaz 75) 6

Kept the pressure on as Liverpool sought a winner.
