Liverpool strengthened their lead at the Premier League summit with a dramatic draw at neighbours Everton. Mohamed Salah looked to have given the Reds victory after Alexis Mac Allister had wiped out Beto's early opener, only for James Tarkowski to score a controversial equaliser in the 98th minute of an extended additional time period.

Arne Slot's side are now seven points clear at the top of the table but the head coach and substitute Curtis Jones were sent off after the final whistle after a melee sparked by Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure in front of the away end which saw the Blues man also dismissed.

The ECHO was at Goodison and here we rate the Liverpool players after the final derby at the stadium ended in stalemate.

Alisson Becker 7

Completely exposed for Everton’s opener but barely touched ball after that first half. Bit more involved in clearing out danger after break.

Conor Bradley 5

Rude awakening on his first derby early on and substituted before he was sent off after earlier booking. Tough going.

Ibrahima Konate 7

Less than convincing, particularly in the air, during the opening quarter but started to impose himself and much, much better second half as Everton sought to continually turn around the visiting defence.

Virgil van Dijk 6

Didn’t have it all his own way up against the awkward Beto and rare sight of Dutchman losing composure. Won't have many more difficult evenings.

Andy Robertson 5

Targeted by the pace of Lindstrom from the off and unable to press forward often. Booked and subbed.

Ryan Gravenberch 5

Found it difficult to find much space in the hustle and bustle of derby midfield and not much influence. Rare off-night for the Dutchman. Subbed.

Alexis Mac Allister 8

Impressive showing, tenacious in the tackle and good using possession. Excellent header to equalise after initiating move. Such a great all-round footballer.

Mohamed Salah 8

Dropped off Mykolenko for more of the ball which allowed him to create leveller with good cross. Persistence in second half paid off with calm finish for second, and later denied by Pickford.

Dominik Szoboszlai 7

Plenty of energy but too many needless flicks and some frustration until shot parried by Pickford shortly before break. Riled home crowd second half but exactly what Liverpool needed to raise tempo.

Cody Gakpo 6

Lacked consistent service before the break but a danger when able to run into area. Took a knock second half and later subbed.

Luis Diaz 6

Struggled to get into the game first half as the central striker and forced to drop deep for possession. Instantly more comfortable on left and cross sparked second goal. Subbed.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (for Gravenberch 61) 7

Added quality on the ball with his arrival.

Curtis Jones (for Bradley 61) 7

Awareness assisted the second goal and used possession intelligently. Booked and later sent off after final whistle.

Kostas Tsimikas (for Robertson 69) 6

Solid enough coming in at left-back.

Darwin Nunez (for Gakpo 69) 6

Gave Liverpool focal point in attack for final quarter.

Diogo Jota (for Diaz 87)

Created chance for Salah during brief cameo.
