Liverpool quartet among 82 Premier League stars who can discuss transfer with new clubs in January
Four Liverpool players are among a star-studded list of 82 Premier League players who will be able to start negotiating with overseas clubs in just two days’ time.
Players are permitted to discuss contract terms with foreign clubs when their existing deals enter the final six months, which is the case from New Year’s Day. However negotiations regarding the free transfers of players between Premier League clubs can only happen in the final month of a contract.
It’s Liverpool’s possible exits that are dominating headlines at present, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah all at risk of leaving the league leaders for free. Vitezslav Jaros’ s contract also expires in the summer, although that is less concerning than the three first-team regulars.

But they’re not the only headline names whose deals expire in six months. Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan’s terms at Manchester City expire in 2025, as do the contracts of Amad, Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen at Manchester United.
Heung-min Son could also start talking to clubs later this week, as could Arsenal duo Thomas Partey Jorginho. Dominic Calvert-Lewin ( Everton ), Adama Traore ( Fulham ), Jamie Vardy ( Leicester City ), Fabian Schar ( Newcastle United ), Chris Wood ( Nottingham Forest ) and Michail Antonio ( West Ham United ) are also high-profile players entering the last six months of their contracts.
The list of 82 players also includes former Reds James Milner (Brighton & Hove Albion), Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace), Danny Ward (Leicester), Scott Carson (Man City), Adam Lallana (Southampton) and Danny Ings (West Ham).
