Liverpool has been heavily linked with a move for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez in recent weeks, and the news that Cherries are reportedly close to signing a new left-back suggests that they are planning for life without the 21-year-old.

Julio Soler, the 19-year-old Lanus full-back who is the captain of Argentina's Under-20 side, is set to arrive on the South Coast this month, according to various reports.

TBR Football reports that Soler has already told his teammates at his current that he is heading to the Premier League, with Bournemouth hoping to wrap the deal up for a fee of around $12million over the next week. Bournemouth is yet to finalize personal terms with Soler but concluding a deal should not be an issue.

The report says that Bournemouth's move is not directly connected to Kerkez's future, but it is obvious that Soler's arrival would smooth over any possible exit for the former AZ Alkmaar full-back.

Liverpool was fairly inactive with regards to new signings during last summer's transfer window, signing just two new players, but Arne Slot will be keen to make improvements to his squad across the next couple of windows.

Liverpool has been linked with signing a new left-back, considering Andy Robertson turned 30 earlier this year and Kostas Tsimikas will turn 30 next season, and Kerkez is reportedly among the players under consideration.

Arne Slot was rotating Robertson with Kostas Tsimikas until Tsimikas picked up an ankle injury in November, and the Scot has made several errors since the beginning of the season, conceding penalties against Southampton and Real Madrid, and being sent off against Fulham.

Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies has also been linked, but Kerkez is perhaps a more likely target and will certainly not demand the kind of wages that Davies would be after.
