Ryan Gravenberch will have to walk a disciplinary tightrope in Liverpool's remaining Premier League matches in 2024 if he is to avoid a one-match suspension. The 22-year-old Dutchman has started all 14 of the Reds' league matches this campaign.

But he risks losing his status as ever-present in the weeks ahead after picking up four bookings already this season.

Premier League rules state that players will receive an automatic one-game suspension if they accumulate five yellow cards before the 20th game of the season.

For Gravenberch, it means if he is booked in any of Liverpool's next four Premier League games (Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester and West Ham), he will have to sit out of the subsequent match.

After the halfway point of the season, however, the threshold for a suspension is increased to ten yellow cards from the first 32 games of the season, meaning that Gravenberch would not be made to serve a suspension if he picks up his fifth booking of the season against Manchester United or later.

Alexis Mac Allister, meanwhile, will serve a one-match suspension against Fulham on Saturday after he received a fifth booking of the season against Newcastle United last time out in the Premier League.

The Argentine had originally been pencilled in to miss the Reds' trip to Goodison Park last weekend, though his suspension was delayed after the game was called off due to the effects of Storm Darragh on Merseyside.
