Liverpool ruthlessly cut short loan days into January transfer window
Liverpool has recalled full-back Calvin Ramsay, who was out on-loan at Wigan Athletic.
The 21-year-old had hoped to get regular game time this season with the League One side, who he joined on-loan in the summer. However, the move has not worked out the way Ramsay and Liverpool would have hoped.
Ramsay has featured just 12 times in all competitions for Liverpool, making just three starts during that time. And now it has been confirmed the Reds have recalled the defender, in the hope they can find him a new club in January where he can play regularly to aid his development.

Wigan thanked Ramsay for his efforts, writing in a club statement: "We can confirm that defender Calvin Ramsay has returned to Liverpool FC.
"The 21-year-old originally signed a season-long loan deal in the summer, but leaves the Brick Community Stadium after making 12 appearances in all competitions.
"We would like to thank Calvin for his efforts during his time with Latics and wish him all the best for the future."
Signed by Liverpool back in 2022 from Aberdeen, Ramsay looked to be one for the future and a potential understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold, a role which now looks to have been taken up by Conor Bradley.
However, injuries during his previous two loan spells at Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers have seen the 21-year-old make 20 senior appearances in total since his move to Anfield from Aberdeen.
Liverpool.com says: "It must be incredibly frustrating for Ramsay to have his future once again thrown up into the air following a third disappointing loan move. Hopefully for the Scotsman he can find a new club to join in January where he can get regular minutes under his belt and return to to Liverpool a better player in the summer."
