Liverpool 'scout' Chelsea transfer target as January price tag emerges
Liverpool have less than two weeks to complete their transfer business before the window closes. The Reds are yet to make any new additions to their squad since the window opened on January 1.
Arne Slot has enjoyed a successful first six months in charge as Liverpool's new head coach. The Reds are top of the Premier League and resume their Champions League campaign at home to Lille on Tuesday night, where they are also top of the current league phase standings.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool have any plans to go into the market for new signings before the transfer window closes on February 3. Despite the uncertainty, the Reds are still being linked with several potential new additions to Slot's squad.

Here, the ECHO takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and gossip that has generated headlines over the last 24 hours.
Liverpool are reportedly in the running to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The Reds have been credited with an interest in the talented forward over the last few months, with the speculation ramping up as the January transfer window rolls on.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have been sending scouts to monitor Bynoe-Gittens throughout the season. However, the Reds will seemingly face competition from Chelsea for the 20-year-old's signature.
It has been reported that Dortmund will now allow Bynoe-Gittens to leave the club before the transfer window closes on February 3. However, there is expected to be interest from the Premier League when the window reopens in the summer.
Elsewhere, Liverpool may have been handed a boost in their reported quest to sign Lyon star Rayan Cherki. The Reds have been credited with an interest in signing the 21-year-old in recent months.
According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Lyon could allow Cherki to leave the club before the transfer window closes if the right offer is made. The France Under-21 international is reported to be valued at around €23million (£19.4million), which is seen as a "bargain" by some club hierarchies.
Liverpool are not directly mentioned in the report, but it has been claimed some clubs from England are showing an interest in signing Cherki. However, they will face competition from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, who are all mentioned as monitoring Cherki's future.
