Liverpool set for cash injection after Carabao Cup semi-final vs Tottenham as windfall confirmed
Liverpool have banked themselves as least £50,000 after booking their place in the Carabao Cup final. The Reds could pocket £100,000 should they beat Newcastle United in next month's showpiece.
Arne Slot's side overcame their first-leg deficit to ensure that they defend their crown, following last season's dramatic win over Chelsea, thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai.
While the windfall is nominal in terms of the Premier League riches, the new Reds head coach will be looking to add his first piece of silverware to his collection - after winning the domestic cup in Holland with Feyenoord last season.

Liverpool could earn a further £120,000 should they overcome Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup on Sunday. The Reds travel to Devon looking to continue their pursuit of all major honours available to them this season.
Their near-perfect run in the Champions League saw them earn, a reported, £82.7million from winning seven of their opening eight fixtures in the new-look competition - including a standard starting fee of £15.5million plus an additional £9.2million for reaching the knockout stages and a further €56.5million (£47.1m) to play for in their quest for a seventh crown.
Liverpool have been stringent in their spending since the summer splurge in 2023. In Slot's first summer, they moved to sign Federico Chiesa as well as Giorgi Mamardashvili, with the latter completing his move in the summer.
However, there was a lack of action during the winter transfer window, despite calls for a January move in the defensive and attacking departments.
Speaking ahead of Thursday's showdown, the Dutchman admitted that the ongoing contract situations regarding Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold will have a major influence on their summer movements.
"It would be a bit weird if I said I was so happy with this team in the summer window and this winter window that now in the next window we bring 15 new players in," he said. "That would be [weird]. But like I said you always have to be prepared for all the new things coming up.
"Will the players that don't play a big part at the moment, will they be able to do this another year? Will they fight for their place or will they [want to] go somewhere else? So we have to be prepared for the next window and what we can do.
"Of course we have some contractual situations that you don't probably don't know about! (laughs) But Trent, Mo and Virgil haven't extended yet. So we are aware of the fact that we have to be sharp and ready for things that can happen."
Slot added: "I think Richard said this already and maybe I said it once or twice as well that with the 'new regime' coming in, with Richard, me and some others, the first thing we wanted to do was see what we had over here.
"What could we do with them? Ryan Gravenberch is a great example of that, he quickly became the No.6 just by working with players and every single day or a lot of days, we constantly adjust asking: where are we? What quality do we have? Can we add something? Yes or no.
"And then there is the question: is that quality available? Only so many players are good enough to play for this team. That is also not so easy. If you are at Feyenoord, there are more players available than if you are at Liverpool for the right price.
"At the moment, we are very happy with what we have. But in football, things can change as well. If in the upcoming three months, a certain player who has done so well starts to play poorly, then you might have to adjust."
