Liverpool are gearing up for their return to Premier League action this weekend when they face Manchester United. The Reds will host their bitter rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as they continue their quest to win the league title.

Arne Slot and Co. currently have a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table over second-placed Nottingham Forest. Liverpool are also nine points ahead of Arsenal in third, who take on Brentford on New Year's Day.

Slot has been forced to deal with several players being unavailable throughout the campaign, whether that be due to injury or suspension. That was the case for the 5-0 win over West Ham, with Slot having Dominik Szoboszlai unavailable due to suspension.

Szoboszlai served a one-match ban for picking up five yellow cards in the Premier League this season. Now, the Hungary international will be available for Liverpool to take on Man United.

On the injury front, Liverpool will hope that Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley return to training in the coming days. The duo have been sidelined since picking up injuries in the win over Real Madrid on November 27 but have been stepping up their return in recent weeks.

It remains to be seen if Konate and Bradley will return to training this week and, by extension, be available to face Man United at the weekend. Slot expressed optimism, though, that the defensive duo could link up with the rest of their teammates.

"They will not be back for West Ham United," Slot told reporters before Liverpool's trip to the London Stadium. "Then there is a week in between.

"Let's see how close they are then. It is difficult to tell you at this moment because they don't train with the group yet.

"Hopefully, in the upcoming days they come closer to that situation. But then again, Ibou has been out for five or six weeks maybe, Conor just as long and they are in competition with players who are completely fit and doing really well so I have to make the right judgement the moment they are back."

Joe Gomez suffered an injury during Liverpool's win over West Ham. Slot will be expected to provide an update on the severity of the injury when he speaks to the media later this week.
