Liverpool will aim to take another significant step in their quest for an unprecedented quadruple when they take on Sparta Prague on Thursday.

The Reds resume their Europa League campaign with a round of 16 first leg tie at the Czech champions having already claimed the League Cup and progressed to the FA Cup quarter-finals while sitting a point clear at the top of the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's squad convened at the AXA Training Centre on Wednesday to continue their preparations for the match in Central Europe. But what could be gleaned from the session?

Salah all smiles

The big news, of course, was the presence of Mohamed Salah, who has made just one substitute appearance in more than two months due to Africa Cup of Nations duty and then a muscle problem he subsequently aggravated.

He could be spotted laughing with Andy Robertson and was later jokingly scalded by Harvey Elliott after one loose touch during the session.

The comfortable manner of Salah indicates he could be given minutes in Prague ahead of the top-of-the-table Premier League clash at home to Manchester City on Sunday.

Kelleher okay

Social media has a lot to answer for. Not least the ability to prompt meltdown among football supporters by circulating scurrilous rumours of injuries to players.

Such was the case on Tuesday for Caoimhin Kelleher, who unwittingly found himself the subject of mild alarm among parts of the fanbase when it was claimed he had joined Alisson Becker in the treatment room.

The Republic of Ireland international, though, was among the goalkeeping group on the pitch at Kirkby. Panic over.

Duo still absent

While Salah returned, Thursday's game has come too early for a number of Liverpool's walking wounded.

Both Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones were snapped arriving at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday minus the protective boots they had forced to wear due to injury. Indeed, Jones was spotted carrying his on the way in.

The duo, though, continue to remain on the sidelines along with Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic, Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota and Ben Doak.

No joy for Jayden

One player unlikely to make the game on Thursday is Jayden Danns, who was absent from the session after suffering from concussion. Danns was involved in a heavy collision with Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels on Saturday for which he was booked.

It was interesting, then, to see Mateusz Musialowski as part of the session, the 20-year-old having been a non-playing member of the squad for the FA Cup fifth round win over Southampton last week.

Youngsters Bobby Clark and James McConnell, who have become regulars training with the first team, were also joined by Academy players Trey Nyoni, Amara Nallo and Kaide Gordon.
