Liverpool started their summer spending with the addition of Mohamed Salah. The former Chelsea midfielder was momentarily their record signing after a £39m switch from AS Roma. The 24-year-old has proven a success at Anfield – so far.

Salah has scored four goals and has made one assist in seven Premier League appearances. His pace has provided a great outlet on the right wing. The Egypt international does have room for improvement, though.

While Salah has already scored five goals in all competitions this term, the African forward needs to be more clinical in front of goal having missed some big chances over the past month.

Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke has been used sparingly since his move to Liverpool from Chelsea.

The England Under-21 international made the switch to Anfield in search of regular football. Solanke, though, has found his first-team opportunities limited despite a flurry of goals in pre-season.

The Liverpool striker got a 16-minute run out at Newcastle United in a 1-1 draw before the international break. Solanke will be hoping to get more minutes under his belt with back-to-back Champions League clashes against Maribor.

Andy Robertson

Liverpool have been unable to resolve their left-back headache under both Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp. Alberto Moreno was signed in 2014 to provide Jose Enrique with competition.

However, the former Sevilla defender’s erratic form meant Klopp used James Milner at left-back last term. Andy Robertson’s arrival appeared to signal that Klopp had finally found a full-back worthy of fulfilling the problem position.

When the Scotland international has been given a chance to impress, he’s acquitted himself well. He was even named man of the match in a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace.

However, Klopp has tended to prefer Moreno to Robertson in recent weeks, which is bizarre considering the Spain international offers little defensively solidarity.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Liverpool managed to get a £40m deal to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the final day of the transfer window.

The England star opted to move to Anfield ahead of a switch to the defending Premier League champions Chelsea. The assumption was Oxlade-Chamberlain would get more game time at Liverpool – something which hasn’t materialised so far.

The 24-year-old’s only start came in a 2-0 loss to Leicester City in the League Cup. The England star started that game on the wing, as opposed to his favoured position in the middle of the park.
