Liverpool have offered in-demand defender Trent Alexander-Arnold a fresh contract worth £78million, according to reports. The Reds are under pressure to extend the 26-year-old's contract with interest swirling from European giants Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti's side launched a £20million bid, on the eve of the transfer window, which Liverpool rejected. Alexander-Arnold's future has been up for debate with his current deal set to expire in the summer, raising the possibility of leaving on a free transfer.

Reports in Spain at the end of last year suggested Los Blancos had already been made aware that the full-back had expressed his intention to the Reds of his desire to move to La Liga. However days later, Alexander-Arnold netted against West Ham United and seemingly dismissed the talk in sensational fashion.

In a report from the Daily Mirror, the Reds have now tabled a brand new five-year deal for the 26-year-old, worth £78million. It has been said that it is similar to the £300,000-a-week offer from the Spanish capital - only a whopping signing-on-fee is attached to ending his association at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been forced to dismiss claims some of his star players could leave Selhurst Park. It comes after captain Marc Guehi has attracted Premier League interest, namely from Newcastle United, with links to Liverpool.

Although no formal offer or approach has been made by the Reds, speculation has been rife over a possible exit as he enters the final 18 months of his deal.

For Palace, they have already rejected four offers from St James' Park - worth in the region of £40million. However, this summer poses the final opportunity to sell - otherwise risk losing him on a free transfer or a discounted price in 2026.

Glasner dismissed: “No player from our squad came to me and said [they] want to leave. No one.

"No one that played all the games, all the minutes, like Marc [Guehi], and no one from the players who didn’t play so many minutes. This is the most relevant part: what the player tells me.

"If one is coming and says they want to leave and both clubs find an agreement, I think it will happen. But as long as a player doesn’t come — and Marc didn’t come — I am really not concerned he will leave."
