Liverpool returns to Premier League action for the first time in 10 days today as Marco Silva's Fulham side visits Anfield.

The Reds haven't played a top-flight game since the 3-3 draw with Newcastle on December 4, after last weekend's Merseyside derby was postponed due to safety concerns.

Arne Slot will be looking for an improved performance from his players after making it clear that he was not impressed with the way they played against Girona on Tuesday night.

The Reds could be in for a stiff test against Fulham, which is unbeaten in its last three top-flight matches — all of which have come against difficult teams.

Silva's men have recorded draws against Tottenham and Arsenal either side of a win over Brighton in December, and the Reds will have to be close to their best to return to winning ways in the league.

A victory will see the team extend its lead at the top of the table to at least six points, with second-placed Chelsea not in action until Sunday night when Enzo Maresca's men host Brentford at Stamford Bridge.

In terms of the line-up Slot could select against Fulham, Alisson will keep his place in goal after impressing on his return to the team against Girona.

The defense pretty much picks itself given Conor Bradley, Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas are all unavailable, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson all expected to line up in the back four.

In midfield, Alexis Mac Allister is suspended and could be replaced by Curtis Jones, with Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai set to start too.

Mohamed Salah is undroppable and Luis Diaz should start again, but Slot has a decision to make with Darwin Nunez after his disappointing showing in the Champions League.

Liverpool.com predicts that Nunez could drop out of the side for Cody Gakpo, who must be wondering what he has to do to nail down a regular starting spot for the Reds.

Diogo Jota returned to full training this week but he is unlikely to start given he has been out for around two months, and could come off the bench in the second half.
