Liverpool boss Arne Slot has named Darwin Nunez in his starting XI to take on Leicester City at Anfield. Diogo Jota is named among the substitutes again as he continues to work his way back to full match sharpness.

Alisson Becker is in goal with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson making up the back four. Kostas Tsimikas and Jarell Quansah are among the substitutes.

In midfield, Dominik Szoboszlai, who was excellent against Spurs last time out, drops to the bench. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister start, with Curtis Jones also in the team from the off.

Up top, Nunez is joined by Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo. Jota and Luis Diaz are among the options from the sidelines, as is Federico Chiesa after the Italian winger recovered from illness.

"I think the positive [for Leicester] is that teams that are positioned in the lower side of the league table, they mostly lose games, but since Ruud [van Nistelrooy] is there they also won a few," Arne Slot told reporters during his pre-match press conference.

"So that shows you that he has done really well, especially when he came in. Now I think he had two tough results in a row. These teams, all of them, it is special for them to go to Anfield and they know if they go to Anfield they have to be at their best, so they will never underestimate us.

"And hopefully maybe that’s the good thing about these 15 minutes we saw [on Sunday], that we understand we cannot underestimate one minute in the Premier League because then we are not as good as we might think we are if we are on top of our game."
