Liverpool team vs Man Utd confirmed as Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai decisions made
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate comes straight back into the starting XI as the Reds take on Manchester United at Anfield today. Arne Slot brings the Frenchman into the side for the huge Premier League clash despite this being his first game in almost six weeks.
Konate starts alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson in the Liverpool defense, in front of goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Jarell Quansah is among the substitutes with Joe Gomez facing a spell on the sidelines with an injury.
In midfield, Liverpool boss Slot has gone with Curtis Jones alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister. Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai is not on the bench but Harvey Elliott and Wataru Endo are options in reserve.

For its forward line, Liverpool has Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo. Diogo Jota is among the subs again as he waits for his first start after returning from injury, where you can also find Darwin Nunez.
"The rivalry between Liverpool and United is one that people all around the world are aware of and the main reasons for that are the history and success of the two clubs involved and the quality of the contests that take place between them," Slot writes in his pre-match program notes.
"The temptation for some will be to be drawn to the league table and to draw conclusions about what could happen today based solely on that. For me, this could only ever be a mistake. Even with my extremely limited knowledge of this fixture as a participant, I know full well that this is a game that comes down to performance on the day and not points on the board beforehand.
"This is not to say I do not recognize that United have been in a tough moment of late. Their results have not been what they would want, and this is something that everyone at their club will want to put right. I would imagine they will feel that there would be no better place to start this process than at Anfield."
