Liverpool tipped for summer bidding war after huge Darwin Nunez transfer update
Liverpool have discovered they will face Paris Saint-Germain in the round-of-16 of the Champions League as they look to continue their sensational campaign in Europe. Arne Slot's side finished at the summit after seven wins in eight games.
In the Premier League, the Reds still remain on course to lift the Premier League title despite the 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on Wednesday night. And with that will come Champions League football for a second successive year.
European football is always a huge factor to attract top talent. Here, the ECHO has taken a look at the latest headlines from in and around Anfield.

Reds set for bidding war to land defender
Liverpool, along with Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly all want to hijack Real Madrid's move for Castello Lukeba in the summer. The RB Leipzig centre-back has continued to make a name for himself since joining the Bundesliga side from Lyon in 2023.
Despite only being 22, Lukeba already has top European teams lining up for his signature. Journalist Christian Falk claims Lukeba's agents are putting a transfer plan in place for the summer, but have their 'sights set' on a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the three Premier League clubs are said to have emerged as potential suitors which could cause a bidding war between clubs. Lukeba, who is under contract until the summer of 2029, is reported to have a release clause of €90million (£74.5m).
Darwin Nunez transfer claim
Darwin Nunez's struggles at Anfield could see the Reds part company with the 25-year-old come the end of the season, it has been claimed. Since completing his £85m move from Benfica to Anfield in 2022, Nunez has struggled to replicate the same heights he once did for the Portuguese giants.
This season, he has six goals and five assists to his name in 35 games in all competitions. Despite snubbing interest from Saudi Arabia in the January transfer window, Liverpool could offload him to invest in a new No.9 better suited to Slot.
The Athletic reports his exit in the summer 'increasingly likely' despite Nunez still being under contract for another three years.
