Liverpool told top target wants transfer but will snub Arne Slot – 'What I'm hearing'
Liverpool target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has asked to leave Napoli – but will more than likely join Paris Saint-Germain, according to Alan Shearer. The Georgian wing-superstar was reported by the ECHO as a real player of interest to Reds chiefs last week, though it seems a transfer to Liverpool won’t be happening.
Throughout his turbulent and eye-catching two-and-a-half years in Naples, Kvaratskhelia has swiftly become one of the most coveted and skilful widemen in Europe.
Impressing in the Champions League with his club side and at Euro 2024 with his country, Georgia, the 23-year-old made his desire to leave Serie A clear in the summer, and now it looks as though he is being shown the exit door. Though, according to Shearer, it won’t lead to Anfield.

“I think he’s asked to leave, hasn’t he? So, by all accounts, what I’m hearing, the likelihood is that PSG – I’m hearing he may be going to them,” Shearer revealed on The Rest Is Football podcast. “No doubt he’s a very, very good player.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, Les Parisiens struck a deal to bring the Georgian to the Parc de Princes on Tuesday. While a specific fee hasn’t yet been disclosed, RMC Sport reports that he will move in a deal worth in excess of £60m – and he'll sign a five-year contract.
Though multiple sources and Shearer now suggest that Kvaratskhelia will snub Slot and Merseyside for the French capital, one of the ex-England captain’s co-stars, Micah Richards, feels that the summer recruiting of Federico Chiesa means Liverpool’s frontline is well equipped.
“I think the more players you can get, the better – (for) the amount of games," Richards said. "Obviously, they signed Chiesa in the summer. He’s been injured and scored the other day. It’s nice to see him get a run-out.” Richards added. “I think with Diaz playing up front at times, normally he plays off the left. Gakpo should be in the goals as well.“
Yet, the former Manchester City and Aston Villa defender still voiced his despair at the Reds potentially missing out on Kvaratskhelia, whom he admires for his no-fear dribbling. “I think if you got Kvaratskhelia, that would be a top signing for them,” said Richards. “Just the way he dribbles. He's fearless. I wouldn't want him to come to the Premier League and not do what he does at Napoli. You know?
“Like every time he gets the ball. We’ve seen it at the Euros. He faces someone up. He’s intelligent as well. He can play in a No. 10 role as well. It's just his feet and movement – everything about him is quality. He’s done it at the highest level in the Champions League.”
