Liverpool turn down transfer approach with two deadline day deals close
Tyler Morton could leave Liverpool before tonight's transfer deadline with Middlesbrough working on a proposal to snap up the midfielder on a permanent deal. Promotion-chasing Championship side Boro have held talks with the Reds over a move for Morton, who had successive loan spells in the division with Blackburn Rovers and Hull City before starting the new campaign with his parent club.
Middlesbrough have had an initial approach rebuffed with Liverpool valuing the 22-year-old well in excess of £10m including any add-ons. Boro would have to improve their bid significantly for a deal to be brokered.
The Reds already have a good working relationship with the North East outfit with teenage winger Ben Doak continuing to impress at the Riverside on a season-long loan.

Morton, who was close to joining Bayer Leverkusen on loan in the summer, has struggled for game time under new head coach Arne Slot, with his appearance from the bench in the 3-2 Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven last Wednesday only his fifth outing of the campaign.
He started the League Cup wins at Brighton and Southampton along with the home FA Cup triumph over Accrington Stanley, but hasn't played a minute in the Premier League and has failed to make a top-flight matchday day squad since mid-December.
There are likely to be a number of other players leaving Liverpool before the 11pm deadline, although they will be on a temporary basis.
Jayden Danns, the 19-year-old striker who started against PSV, is close to moving to Championship side Sunderland for the remainder of the campaign, while 20-year-old winger Kaide Gordon, who was recalled from his stay at Norwich City last month, is expected to join Portsmouth in a similar deal.
Meanwhile, Academy midfielder Dominic Corness is poised to move to League Two side Gillingham on loan.
