Liverpool is reportedly seriously interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Murillo during the summer transfer window.

Murillo has emerged as one of the best center-backs in the Premier League over the last couple of seasons and has played a key role in Forest's brilliant 2024-25 campaign, with the club sitting inside the Premier League's top four and Champions League qualification a real possibility.

Were Liverpool to lose Virgil van Dijk on a free transfer at the end of the season, the club would be in the market for a replacement for the Dutchman, who has been a stalwart since joining the Reds seven years ago.

And Caught Offside says Murillo has been identified as a possible target, with the center-back open to the idea of moving to Anfield in time for the start of the 2025-26 season.

Murillo is contracted to Forest until 2029 but would reportedly be interested in joining Liverpool as long as the two clubs can agree on a transfer fee.

Forest would reportedly be unwilling to entertain offers under $99 million, so Liverpool would seemingly have to stump up one of its highest ever transfer fees in order to lang the 22-year-old Brazilian.

Meanwhile, Liverpool was unable to reach a deadline day agreement with Middlesbrough over the sale of central midfielder Tyler Morton.

Boro was keen to sign the 22-year-old and made a bid for him, but Liverpool deemed the offer to be beneath Morton's true value and will now keep hold of the player until at least the end of the season. It is claimed that Boro's offer was $ 12 million plus significant performance-related add-ons.a

Morton was the subject of interest from Bayer Leverkusen last summer but Liverpool and Leverkusen were far apart on their valuations of the player.
