Liverpool transfer news as Real Madrid ‘confident’ of signing target and striker attracts interest
The January transfer window hasn’t been an enjoyable one so far for Liverpool fans.
News surrounding the possible exits of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah continue to dominate; Khvicha Kvaratskhelia looks set to join Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli; Martin Zubimendi might be off to Arsenal next summer; and it seems like no arrivals will be incoming at Kirkby.
To compound matters, it looks like Real Madrid could also agree a deal for a player who has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.

Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich)
Alphonso Davies’ name has been mentioned repeatedly in the transfer gossip columns over recent months, with the Bayern Munich full-back out of contract this summer.
Marca has reported there is "confidence" in the Spanish capital that Davies will end up signing a deal with Real as talks with Bayern stall, while transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg claims the German side are considering withdrawing from negotiations due to ‘certain new demands’ made by the player.
He added in a separate post on X that Davies is asking for an "exorbitant signing fee" and claims Real have "have increased their offer and are applying pressure."
Meanwhile, TBR Football reports that Davies will tell interested parties Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United that he is not considering a move to the Premier League, with Real’s transfer priority to tie up deals for Alexander-Arnold and Davies.
Jayden Danns (Liverpool)
Elsewhere, another Liverpool player whose future is gaining significant interest is Jayden Danns. The striker scored in last week’s FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley in just his second senior appearance of the season and, with the competition for places, could leave on loan this month.
Arne Slot didn’t rule that possibility out when asked last week about the 19-year-old’s future, and former journalist Darren Witcoop has claimed via a post on X that Stoke City are interested in the player after Tom Cannon was recalled by Leicester City.
Danns has also been linked with a short-term switch to Wrexham, while Derby County and Millwall went to watch the forward play for Liverpool’s Under-21s on Wednesday night, according to Football League World.
