It's claimed Napoli has opened negotiations with Liverpool and Federico Chiesa over the possibility of the Italian winger moving to Naples on loan for the remainder of the season.

Chiesa has appeared just four times for Liverpool since swapping Turin for Merseyside last summer, with only one of those appearances coming as a starter. He went almost three months without playing between September and December, and has not figured since coming on as a half-time substitute against Southampton in the week before Christmas.

Slot was not overly impressed with Chiesa's display against Saints and multiple reports since the January transfer window opened have said that the Dutchman is ready to let the player leave this month.

Foot Mercato says that Chiesa has been advised by Italy manager Luciano Spalletti that his chances of returning to the international fold would be best served by a return to Serie A. Napoli is said to be in pole position to land Chiesa ahead of the likes of Inter Milan and Fiorentina, although an agreement will need to be reached over how much of Chiesa's salary both clubs are willing to cover.

The report says that Liverpool has agreed to let Chiesa leave this summer with an eye to him returning and taking on a more important role in Slot's squad next season.

It is claimed that Liverpool is not keen on including an option for Napoli to sign Chiesa permanently next summer, but it is suggested that the Reds could be convinced to do so if Napoli covers a larger percentage of Chiesa's wages during the six-month loan spell, or if Napoli was to pay Liverpool a higher transfer fee than Liverpool paid Juventus for the player last year.

Meanwhile, Stefan Bajcetic will reportedly be sent on loan to La Liga side Real Betis until the end of the season, according to DaveOCKOP.

The young midfielder is set to be recalled from his loan spell at RB Salzburg, where he was sent last summer to link up with former Reds assistant Pep Lijnders, who has since been sacked. Bajcetic has appeared 17 times for Salzburg this season but it sounds like his next competitive outing will come in Spain.
