Liverpool transfer news as Reds prepare to sell winger for $25 million
It's claimed Liverpool has reduced its asking price for Ben Doak to around $25 million plus add-ons, having originally been asking for $37 million for the 19-year-old winger.
GiveMeSport reports that Crystal Palace is set to return to the Reds with an improved offer after being knocked back last week, while Ipswich is also considering a fresh bid. Palace and Ipswich both submitted offers of around $18 million for Doak last week but they were rejected by the Reds, who are ultimately seemingly open to selling the youngster this month — just for a slightly higher fee.
Doak joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022 and has appeared 10 times for the senior side, but it sounds as though Liverpool can't turn down the chance to make a significant profit on a player who cost the club less than $1 million three years ago.

Doak joined Middlesbrough on a season-long loan last summer but any sale would obviously spell the end of his time on Teesside. The Scot has scored two goals and registered six assists in 21 appearances for Boro.
Meanwhile, much has been made of Andy Robertson's perceived drop in form this season, and Liverpool has been linked with a move for Fulham's Antonee Robinson as a possible alternative to the Scot. Robinson has been one of the stand-out left-backs in the Premier League this season, impressive both going forward and defensively for Marco Silva's side.
However, unsurprisingly, GiveMeSport reports that a January move is not on the cards due to funds that would be required to get a deal done. It's worth noting that Robinson turns 28 this season and Liverpool generally doesn't spend big money on players of that age, preferring instead to invest in slightly younger players.
