Liverpool transfer news as Reds willing to sell youngster for $37m while Barcelona lurks
Liverpool is open to selling Ben Doak for $37 million after rejecting a $18.5 million bid from Crystal Palace for the talented young winger.
Doak, 19, has impressed during a loan spell at Middlesbrough this season, registering two goals and five assists, and winning the Championship's young player of the month award for November. The Reds believe Doak has the potential to play for them in the future but would be willing to let him leave for a sizeable fee if one is offered to them, according to The Independent.
Doak joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022 and has appeared 10 times for the Reds' senior team, but the club felt his development would be best served by a loan move to a second-tier club for this season.

Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick has been pleased with Doak's contributions for his team. Speaking a few weeks ago, he said: "It's clear for everyone to see the talent that he's got and the threat that he has. He's a different threat to most. He's quite direct and not so much loads of tricks and skills, but he's got that attribute to be low with his centre of gravity, he's direct and gets in that position an awful lot."
Meanwhile, Barcelona sporting director Deco is keeping a close eye on Luis Diaz's situation at Anfield, according to Spanish outlet SPORT. The Colombia international has been linked with a move to the Camp Nou over the past few months, but there are suggestions that Liverpool is looking to tie him down to a new contract.
Diaz's current deal expires in 2027, with the 27-year-old still on the same terms he agreed when he arrived from Porto in 2022. Deco is said to be waiting on Diaz, with Barca favoring him over other left-wing options like Rafael Leao, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Nico Williams.
Diaz is enjoying his best season since joining Liverpool, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions — just one goal fewer than he managed in 51 appearances last season
