Liverpool transfer news as Sunderland wonderkid eyed amid Mohamed Salah contract boost
Liverpool is poised to try to take exciting young Sunderland prospect Trey Ogunsuyi to Anfield.
The 17-year-old has scored eight goals in seven appearances at youth level for the Black Cats this season, with five of those strikes coming in U21 matches. Liverpool has made a habit of signing exciting young players from domestic rivals recently, with Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni and Amara Nallo joining the Reds from Chelsea, Leicester and West Ham respectively.
Ogunsunyi, who has represented Belgium at youth level, is yet to make a senior appearance for Sunderland but he has been described by the team's first-team manager Regis Le Bris as a "very interesting player for the future".

The teenager can play anywhere across the forward line and the Daily Mail says Liverpool is ready to raid Sunderland for his services.
Meanwhile, Marca reports that Mohamed Salah is close to agreeing a contract renewal with the Reds as he prepares to enter the final six months of his current deal. Salah will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1 ahead of leaving Liverpool for free at the end of the season.
But Marca says that Salah's situation at Liverpool has changed in recent weeks after he had previously felt as though the club was unwilling to meet his demands. It is claimed that an deal could even be struck before the end of the year, which would end any prospect of Salah signing a pre-contract agreement with another club next year.
Liverpool is reported to have set a target of keeping at least two of Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and at the moment it looks as though the two players who are most likely to stay are Salah and Van Dijk. Some Saudi clubs are said to still be monitoring Salah's situation at Liverpool, but the chances of him moving to the Middle East next year are looking increasingly slim.
