Liverpool's transfer reality has been spelled out by fresh data that has been published. The Reds have had a quiet 12 months in the transfer market when it comes to new signings, with just one new arrival being added to Arne Slot's squad.

Federico Chiesa was signed by Liverpool from Juventus last summer in a deal worth up to £12.5million. The Italy international has gone on to make 10 appearances for the Reds, scoring one goal which came against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup.

Giorgi Mamardashvili was also signed by Liverpool in August last year in a deal that could reach £30million. The goalkeeper is spending the campaign on loan at Valencia and will link up with Slot's squad for the start of next season.

There were rumours that Liverpool could go into the market for more signings in the January transfer window. However, the Reds opted not to make any new additions to their squad and now a report has outlined where the club ranks when it comes to their transfer business.

A report published by the CIES Football Observatory has ranked every club based on their net spend from transfers. The report uses transfer fees from both the summer and January windows to rank every club, including Liverpool.

Liverpool are reported to have a net spend of +€21million (£17.5million) for their transfer business this season. That is enough to see them rank 64th when it comes to teams who have the worst net spend.

The report states that Liverpool spent €50million (£41.6million) on transfer fees during this season, which would equate to the fees for Chiesa and Mamardashvili. It has also been stated that the Reds received €71million (£59.1million) from player sales, with it also stressed that the figures for every club also include any potential add-ons from past deals.

Despite Liverpool being quiet in terms of incomings this season, some players also left Anfield on permanent deals. Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho left the Reds to sign for Brentford to help boost the club's net spend.

Only three Premier League clubs had a better net spend than Liverpool this season - Everton €34million (£28.3million), Aston Villa €53million (£44.1million) and Newcastle United €54million (£45million). At the other end of the rankings, Brighton have the worst net spend at -€253million (£210.7million).
