Liverpool vs Tottenham Carabao Cup semi-final second leg simulated to predict cup fate
Tottenham have the chance to reach their first cup final since 2021 later today as Ange Postecoglou's side take on Liverpool in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie.
Lucas Bergvall scored the only goal of the game as Spurs beat Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg, meaning the Lilywhites take their narrow lead into the second leg at Anfield later today. Spurs enter the clash on the back of a 2-0 win against Brentford, but it won't be an easy task, with Anfield far from a happy hunting ground for Postecoglou's side.
Spurs' last win at Anfield came way back in 2011, with Liverpool a formidable force at home. Micky van de Ven has been ruled out of the clash later today, but January signings Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel will both be available for selection.

So, can Spurs book their spot in the Carabao Cup Final when they take on Liverpool later today? Let's take a look...
We simulated Liverpool vs Spurs to get a score prediction
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
We predict that Liverpool could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz.
We predict that Spurs could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Kinsky; Porro, Danso, Davies, Spence; Bentancur, Bissouma, Bergvall; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Son.
Spurs had the chance to score early on when Ibrahima Konate's under-hit back pass was cut out by Richarlison, but one-on-one, the striker lacked composure as Alisson made a big save to keep the scores level. After the miss, Liverpool took control, and with 24 minutes on the clock, the Reds took the lead.
Conor Bradley dispossessed Son Heung-min on the right, with the defender surging forward with the ball to kickstart a counter-attack for the hosts. Bradley found Dominik Szoboszlai in the middle before continuing his run into the box, and the midfielder picked out the defender who fired home from close range to make it 1-0.
Just before the break, Richarlison had the ball in the net when he headed Dejan Kulusevski's deep cross in at the back post, but celebrations were cut short as the offside flag was raised. A few more chances evaded Postecoglou's side as they looked to retake the aggregate lead, but with 18 minutes to go, it was Liverpool who went ahead in the tie.
A turnover in possession saw Arne Slot's side hit Spurs on the break once again, with Mohamed Salah leading the charge through the middle. With options on either side, the Egyptian rolled the ball into the path of Luis Diaz on his right, and a powerful strike from the Colombian found the roof of the net to put Liverpool into a 2-0 lead on the night.
Fantastic game management from the Reds saw them limit Spurs' chances in the closing stages of the game, with Postecoglou's side crashing out of the Carabao Cup.
EA FC 25 predicted final score: Liverpool 2-0 Tottenham (Liverpool win 2-1 on aggregate)
