The Red Devils are in absolute crisis and were fortunate not to have lost by more than the eventual 2-0 scoreline in Monday’s clash with Newcastle. Liverpool smashed West Ham 5-0 on Sunday to send another title statement but the win may have come at a relative cost.

Joe Gomez limped off with a hamstring injury and won’t feature here. Konate and Conor Bradley have both returned to training in a major boost for Liverpool, and it was expected that both would not be fit for tonight, leaving Jarell Quansah to deputise.

But Konate starts alongside Virgil van Dijk in a strong lineup, while Bradley makes the bench.

Curtis Jones gets the nod in midfield, alongside Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch. It’s the usual front three of Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.
