From the outside looking in, not many will believe that Liverpool's squad is in need of reinforcements based on the first half of the season. The Reds have a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with a game in hand; they also lead the Champions League standings.

Now, however, the January transfer window is just around the corner, and with it will come rumours about the players Liverpool may or may not want to sign. The Reds have not been shy about splashing the cash in the New Year when necessary in the past.

Several players have already been linked with a move to Liverpool ahead of the window opening. One position that has been argued is in need of strengthening is left-back, with one player in particular being linked with a move to Merseyside.

Milos Kerkez has been one of Bournemouth's star players this season and has been a key reason behind their rise up to fifth place in the Premier League table. The Hungary international is rumoured to be valued at around £40million, but given the form of the Cherries this term and his importance to the team, it would not be a surprise to see that figure increase.

Should Liverpool try and sign Kerkez, then he would compete with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas for the left-back position in Arne Slot's team. The Reds head coach has regularly alternated between Robertson and Tsimikas this season, but several reports have claimed that a new left-back remains a transfer priority in the weeks or months ahead.

Martin Zubimendi also reportedly remains a target for Liverpool after the Reds failed to sign the Real Sociedad star in the summer. Whether or not Zubimendi is still a player of interest to Liverpool is uncertain, with the picture likely to become much clearer over the next few weeks.

The forward areas have also seen Liverpool linked with several potential new additions. Omar Marmoush, Joao Pedro and Viktor Gyokeres are just some of the players credited as possible targets for the Reds. Given the wealth of options already at Slot's disposal, it may be mere speculation at this point that is seeing the aforementioned players tipped to move to Anfield.

Liverpool's strongest line-up after January transfer window: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz.
