Liverpool's world-record signing Alisson has 'name written on debut shirt in marker pen'

Liverpool spent a world-record transfer fee on Alisson Becker but it seems they are saving a few pennies by not printing his name on the back of his shirt.

The Reds splashed out £65million to sign the Brazilian from Roma this summer and make him the most expensive goalkeeper in football history.

He made his first start for the Anfield outfit on Saturday evening and kept a clean sheet in the 5-0 thrashing of Serie A giants Napoli in a pre-season friendly in Dubiln.

However, the mega-money superstar was seemingly not give the five-star treatment by Jurgen Klopp’s backroom team as his name was written on his kit in pen.

Alisson wore the No. 13 shirt for Liverpool but his official squad number is yet to be confirmed for the forthcoming campaign.

Reports have suggested that the new boy doesn’t want to wear the traditional No. 1 shirt and allow the man he is replacing, Loris Karius, to keep it.

Karius has had a dreadful time on Merseyside of late after his howlers helped hand Real Madrid victory in the Champions League final last May.

His woes continued into the club’s pre-season campaign and sparked Klopp’s extravagant purchase in the transfer market.

Alisson’s decision to waive the chance to take on top billing has gone down well with Liverpool supporters who are keen to see Karius given respect despite his errors.

Liverpool stated on their website that Alisson’s squad number will be confirmed in due course to put an end to the speculation.
