Loan watch and ex-Blues: Two-goal Dan is Penrith's hero
Dan Hopper was the two-goal hero for Penrith in the Cumbrian derby in his latest loan appearance.
The Carlisle United teenager struck twice to hand Darren Edmondson’s side a 2-1 victory over Carlisle City.
Hopper, who is on a work experience loan with the Northern League Division One club, fired an early opener for the Bonny Blues after good work from Luke Hunter.
The 17-year-old then doubled Penrith’s lead in the second half as he rifled home inside the box after an assist from former United man Connor Hammell.
Mikey Williamson pulled one back for Dan Kirkup’s City but Penrith held on for the points at Frenchfield Park, as Blues youth team prospect Hopper earned the man of the match award.
A huge thank you from our match sponsors from our chairman, Billy Williams.
They picked Dan Hopper as the man of the match.

@officialswifts I’m really sorry for the injury to Callum Chafer. I’d never intentionally hurt another player and deeply regret what happened.
Wishing him a speedy recovery and hoping to see him back on the pitch soon. 🙏🏽— Derek Asamoah (@d9asa) January 4, 2025
