Loic Bade to Aston Villa transfer update as 'unexpected problem' claim made
Loic Bade is reportedly keen to stay at Sevilla beyond the close of the winter window despite interest from Aston Villa.
Diego Carlos has completed his move to Fenerbahce from Villa in a deal worth £8.5m and Unai Emery needs to replace the Brazilian in his squad. Bade was identified as his prime target, but Villa may now have to move on to other options.
Spanish outlet Orgullo de Nervion claim Bade has informed Sevilla of his desire to remain at the club because he believes in the project at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. They add that Villa had agreed a deal with Sevilla for the France international worth around £25m, so Bade's refusal comes as an "unexpected problem" for Monchi.

Bade has emerged as a key player for Sevilla after Monchi originally signed him on loan from Rennes in January 2023. He then penned a permanent contract to complete his move from Rennes.
That followed an unsuccessful spell at Nottingham Forest, where Bade failed to make a single appearance under Steve Cooper during his time at the City Ground.
Villa have options to pursue other than Bade in case the move collapses. Milan Skriniar, who was offered to Villa, is on his way to Fenerbahce to link up with Carlos.
Villa have signed two players this month for Emery's first-team, forward Donyell Malen and right-back Andres Garcia.
