Longstaff to Everton, Trippier exit back on and three other possible Newcastle United January deals
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has already hinted that there could be some departures at St James' Park in the next few weeks.
The January window is about to swing into action, and due to PSR rules, it looks like Newcastle's only way of doing business will be to offload one or two new stars. Last January Howe had to battle to hold on to Kieran Trippier as Bayern Munich swooped in with a bid for the right-back and with the head coach urging for focus within his squad he has made it clear there could be more interest in some of his squad.
Here, Chronicle Live looks at some of the potential exits at United ahead of the winter window.

Martin Dubravka
The Slovakia international has already been subject of intense talk from the Middle East that Al-Shabab want his signature this January. Some reports have even suggested that a deal with the Saudi Pro League side is already "done" but Howe has attempted to play down such talk and feels it would be dangerous to sell a keeper of Dubravka's quality and experience while Nick Pope is injured.
Howe said earlier this month: "I have been aware of the rumours and the talk about that deal, but I don't think it is done.
"Certainly, we would not want to lose a goalkeeper that is playing for us currently. That wouldn't make sense. It is not a deal that we would want to sanction."
Miguel Almiron
The Paraguay international is the obvious squad member for Newcastle when it comes to raising funds this month. Unhappy at his lack of game-time, Almiron, after fighting to stay on Tyneside in the last two windows, is accepting the chance to move may be the best thing for him in January.
Almiron has generated plenty of interest from across the pond with Major League Soccer side Charlotte FC keen on his signature while there have also been enquiries from River Plate in Argentina. Everton, Leicester City, Fulham and Wolves have also been linked.
As Chronicle Live reported on December 19, Newcastle officially sanctioned exit talks for Almiron with his agent Daniel Campos.
Kieran Trippier
The full-back watched on last January as Newcastle turned down a couple of bids from Bayern Munich as Howe fought to keep him on Tyneside. Trippier has slowly had opportunities under Howe this season after overcoming a hamstring problem but is clearly second choice to Tino Livramento.
At 34 and with no guarantee of game-time, it would be difficult for Newcastle to stand in the way of any cash bids this January. He still has two years left on his contract and has attracted interest from Everton recently and the Saudi Pro League last summer.
Trippier could also be used as a possible swap deal for England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The Sheffield-born striker has ben linked with Newcastle in recent days after summer interest.
Sean Longstaff
The midfielder is contracted for another couple of seasons but has generated interest in the forthcoming window. Everton have been credited with strong links in the last 48 hours and it remains to be seen whether Newcastle decide to cash in on a deal that would mean pure profit due to his Academy status.
Jamaal Lascelles
The centre-back is still to make a comeback from a knee injury but will face a tough battle for his place in early 2025. With Dan Burn in excellent form, Fabian Scha a first choice and Sven Botman to come back an almighty task lies in wait.
Lascelles was a target of Wolverhampton Wanderers before Gary O'Neil lost his job but there is also longer-term interest from Turkey with Besktas and Fenerbahce both keen.
