'Looks like a serious one' - What McKenna said about Wes Burns knee injury
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna admits that the knee injury suffered by Wes Burns in the 4-1 defeat at Liverpool yesterday appears to be serious.
The flying Welsh winger, 30, hurt his right knee in a challenge with Cody Gakpo less than half an hour into the Premier League clash.

Replays showed his knee 'popping' in the challenge - often a sign of an ACL injury. The ACL is the ligament which runs diagonally through the knee, and is key in ensuring stability of the joint.

Burns left Anfield on crutches, with his knee encased in a large brace. An ACL tear would likely rule him out for the rest of the season - and probably into the 2025/26 campaign.
"Not good," admitted McKenna, when asked about the Welshman. "It wasn't an impact, it was a movement.
"We've got our fingers crossed, but the knee's very swollen and he's on crutches. He'll be going for a scan.
"We hope that's it's not as bad as it looks, but it does look like a serious one."
