Lostock AC members took a break from racing this past week but were out in force at parkrun on Saturday.

Storm Eowyn had felled some trees at Haigh Woodland Park, so Lostockers were required to change their usual morning routine and find an alternative run.

Four joined 265 runners at Bolton Parkrun where it was Chris Baker’s first time and he finished the two loops of Leverhulme Park in 24mins 48secs.

Andy Laycock closely followed in 25:04, then Luke Baker, in 25:26, (second in age category) and Gill Caldwell 33:43 (first in age category).

Rachel Hancock headed to Brueton Parkrun, in Solihull, joining an impressive 690 runners. The 5k is two loops around the park and Hancock finished in 28:31.

Mark Shuttleworth joined 622 runners at Peel Parkrun, finishing in 24:13.

A quartet from Lostock travelled to Leigh and Pennington Flash Parkrun - a three-lap run with an undulating course.

Due to the weather, the course was littered with puddles and slippery in places.

Rachel Stevens had a fantastic run and was the second female to finish in 28:36, also securing first in her age category. Ian Burns was next, finishing second in his age category in 30:15.

Due to the las minute change of venue, Chris and Karen Taylor were running late and missed the start of the run. They still had an awesome race, with Chris finishing in 34:53 and Karen in 36:07, still achieving first in age category.
