Louie Barry drops major Sunderland transfer hint amid January transfer links
Aston Villa forward Louie Barry has dropped a major hint about his future at Villa Park amid transfer links with Sunderland.
The 21-year-old forward spent the first half of the current campaign on loan with League One side Stockport County, scoring 15 goals and registering two assists in 23 appearances in the third tier of English football.
The former Barcelona academy talent has been recalled by Aston Villa amid ongoing speculation about his future. Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Leeds United are among the clubs linked with a move for the young striker in the current January transfer window, as his recall to Villa Park has opened the door for the Championship sides to make a move.

Taking to Instagram to announce his departure from County, Barry shared: "Emotional day for me yesterday saying my goodbyes to everyone. Absolutely gutted I wasn't able to play in the game and thank you all for the way you have treated me ever since my first day at Edgeley Park.
"I've loved every singled second of playing for County and going into training with an amazing group of lads. I will always hold Stockport County close to my heart.
"Thank you to the gaffer, the staff, all the players and most importantly the fans, I know I was only here on loan but you made me feel like I was one of your own which was a special feeling. Hopefully this isn't the last time we cross paths, but I will be a fan for life now. Thank you again."
The Villa forward set tongues wagging on Wearside, liking a comment in response to his Stockport County farewell. One fan wrote: "Brilliant Louie, now hopefully you'll sign for Sunderland and do the same up there."
Sunderland supporters have been quick to point out the transfer hint online, with Regis Le Bris' side in the market for additions in the final third of the pitch. The Black Cats boss says the Wearsider's will look to loans from Premier League clubs to bolster their ranks and Villa have reportedly given the green light for another loan according to the Telegraph.
"Yes, absolutely," confirmed Le Bris. "It's a good market and good targets. But it's the same idea, we need good quality and good connection with the team so it's not easy to find. Recruitment is very hard. It's a hard part of the project."
